Run Time: All films must be under 20 minutes in length (we recommend 5-10 minutes). For filmmakers with longer films, we encourage submission of a special edit or excerpt.
Place of Origin: This is an international film festival and we encourage filming anywhere on the Planet Earth or beyond.
Premier Status: No premier status requirement
Distribution Status: Projects may have distribution
Time Frame: All films must have been produced within the past 36 months.
Submissions:
- All film makers will receive 2 free entries into the film festival event if their film is chosen to play in the festival.
- All submissions must be in English or have English subtitles.
- The same film may be entered only once into the festival.
- The Entrant acknowledges and agrees that all matters will be decided by Festival organizers or the Festival jury at their sole discretion.
- Technical Specifications: Films may be submitted as digital HD files in the following formats: .wmv, .flv, .mpg, .avi, .mov, .mp4 ,quicktime & etc…
Film Upload: After filling out the online submission form and submitting your payment, you will be asked to upload your film on completion of submission which is here www.leavenworthfilmfestival.org/submit-film . You must include your last name and the title of your film in the file name. We ask that you meet this requirement so we know which film is yours!
Submission Materials: Please include a short description of your film and director’s bio. We also recommend you include the names of any filmers, writers, editors, actors, and athletes involved in your piece.
Fees/Deadlines: We will accept films until the March 30th, 2020 deadline at midnight. Film submission fees are free.
Notification of screening: All submitted films will be pre-screened by festival judges and the top rated films in each category will be presented and will be in the running to receive awards. Festival finalists whose work will be shown will be notified no later than April 8th, 2020 and will receive two free passes to the event.
Eligibility: The entered film must be original work of the author or authors. Multiple authorship allowed. Filmmakers are responsible for obtaining copyright permissions for any and all music used in films.
The Leavenworth Film Festival reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any project or film submitted.
Submission of Use: By sending your materials to the Leavenworth Film Festival, you are acknowledge the Leavenworth Film Festivals right to screen your film or project at least one time in the next year at our Film Festival.
By submitting you are also acknowledging the right to allow Leavenworth Film Festival use of images and clips from your film or project for the next 48 months on our website, facebook page, and press materials to promote our festival and events, but NOT for any commercial use reproductions of your film.
The Entrant acknowledges and agrees that all matters will be decided by Festival organizers or the Festival jury at their sole discretion.
